During the second week of this very fruitful course,
I’ve learned so many things; I reviewed the way I create learning objectives
for my students and I tried using the A B C D model (Audience, Behavior,
Conditions and Degree) the way they are named and organized in the course.
Learning
objectives should be clear, concise, and focused on what learners should be
able to do after they‘ve completed the instruction. As Johnes, 1997 states:
“Clear objectives can help the instructor design lessons that will be easier
for the student to comprehend the teacher to evaluate”.
Now, I am highly motivated to start a new
technology-inspired change in my classroom. Therefore, I surfed the internet
looking for better opportunities for my students to enhance their active
learning and trigger their critical thinking.
I would like to thank all my friends and classmates in
this course for sharing their best practices, their successes and also their
failures. I hope to read more from them in the coming weeks.
Many thanks to Jodi
and Sherie for their ongoing support and encouragement!
Hi,
ReplyDeleteIts interesting to read how you use the technology to enhance the skills of your students. Please let us know how they responded.
With many thanks,
Medha.
The quote you used is so true.
ReplyDeleteSometimes when I get so used to teaching continuously for 4-6 hours a day I forget to brief the students on the objective of the lesson making them feel blur. So for me it is really important to let them know what we hope for so that they can perform their best in learning.
That is a great quote, Afa. I'm glad it's been a fruitful week for you!

Hello Afa,
ReplyDeleteI agree with you that we should be careful when we write our objectives in any lesson! A lesson plan is the key of success! Thank you for you work!
